***During distance learning, children will not have homework.***
Choice Board Each week, children will get a choice board, an array of open-ended activities to support your child's growth and develop school-to-home and home-to-school connections. Choice boards will also be posted on our Google Classroom. Children may choose activities of interest to complete throughout the week at home. On Fridays (or the last day of the week) children will bring their completed work/choice board to school. During our morning meeting, children will have an opportunity to share their experiences or any artifacts they may have created.
Games and Organization Math and word study games will be included with weekly choice boards. I recommend you compile games in a special folder at home. Children love to revisit favorite games again and again. New math games will require the same materials so be sure to store number cards and dice, for example, in a safe place.
Read Every Day Daily reading is a joyful routine in which you and your child can create loving memories. I recommend 20-30 minutes a day of you reading to your child, your child reading to you, or a combination of both. I-Ready This is an online program that provides your child with reading and math lessons.
